- ➤ Chef Nicholas Pissare has joined Brush Creek Ranch to lead its kitchen and aims for a Michelin Key similar to his success in Colorado (the state’s only resort with two keys). He will focus on fine European dining with local and select imported ingredients at the Cheyenne Club’s Farm. Cowboy State Daily
- ➤ In 1903, conductor Dick Nelson helped destitute Calamity Jane complete her last train ride from Billings to Deadwood after fellow passengers raised enough money to pay her fare and care for her journey (she wished to be near her friend Bill Hickok). Cowboy State Daily
- ➤ Dude Dad, known for roasting Colorado, will headline his Parents Night Out show at the Cheyenne Civic Center on Jan. 16 as part of Comedy That Cares, a monthly tour benefiting local nonprofits. The tour will also run in Laramie on Jan. 17. Cowboy State Daily
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ BLM is now offering firewood and Christmas tree permits for $1 per item (effective through Jan. 31) to help Wyoming families lower holiday costs while supporting wildfire prevention. New cutting areas near communities will open immediately to ease access to these resources. KING FM

- ➤ Wyoming's Pokes kept their home streak alive with a 93-80 win over Dartmouth on Saturday, Dec. 6 in Laramie — Leland Walker led with 18 points and 4 assists. The team stands 7-2 and will host South Dakota State on Tuesday, Dec. 9. Cap City News
