- ➤ The November Cheyenne Economic Indicators report shows tax collections and home values rose and is available on the state website (report findings reflect local trends). Wyoming Tribune Eagle
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Record-breaking warmth and high winds disrupt travel on I-80 and raise fire concerns in southeast Wyoming today. Cheyenne reached 65 degrees and the unseasonable heat will last through Christmas Day before a system brings cooler temperatures and possible snowfall over the weekend. Cap City News
- ➤ Cheyenne officials issued a recycling guide for residents to sort recyclables from festive items. They advise breaking down boxes and taking hazardous waste to the Transfer Station (open Tue-Fri 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and Sat 7:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.), which closes on Christmas and New Year’s. - ➤ Cheyenne’s Historic Pumphouse, built in 1892, will not be demolished after the city council replaced a resolution setting a Jan. 14 deadline with one calling for community collaboration (aiming at restoration). Mayor Collins and historic advocates said the change opens up new discussions to preserve the landmark for future generations. Cowboy State Daily
- ➤ The BLM delayed new bonding rules for Wyoming oil and gas operators, giving small firms extra breathing room — regulators and industry leaders will hold further discussions on a bonding pool program to balance financial security with environmental protection. 106.3 Cowboy Country
- ➤ On Dec. 9, the Laramie County Sheriff's Office honored staff with a banquet highlighting exceptional teamwork and dedication for service (including individual leadership and unit excellence) throughout the year. Cap City News
- ➤ The Cheyenne Downtown Development Authority is offering a $55K contract to a horticultural vendor for designing, installing, and caring for downtown planters in 2026. Proposals are due by Jan. 16, and a winning bid may extend the project into a three-year program — enhancing public spaces. Cap City News
- ➤ Secretary of State Chuck Gray criticized Governor Gordon’s plan to let the Attorney General appeal the court ruling that reversed the Pronghorn H2 wind project in Converse County, saying the move bypassed proper board approval and public input. KGAB
