Good morning, Cheyenne.

Wyoming has filed an appeal against a February ruling that found public schools were underfunded due to funding adjustments that did not meet constitutional requirements.

The state asked the Wyoming Supreme Court to review the case—ensuring future funding aligns with constitutional mandates.

Wyoming elected officials twice declined the federal summer nutrition program that feeds income-qualified children during school breaks—officials may consider revising school programs to support these kids in the future.

The new law—set to take effect in July—requires Wyoming voters to present documents proving residency and citizenship when registering, and it allows a signed attestation for those without standard proof.

Some critics argue that the rule may discourage eligible voters from participating given the state’s recent low turnout.

Between March 24 and March 28, the Cheyenne-Laramie County Health Department inspected restaurants, bars and schools and found issues like missing food safety manager certification and faulty equipment—some facilities must pass a re-inspection in 10 days.
