  • Cheyenne Botanic Gardens buys 10,000 tulip bulbs each year to boost its vibrant, long-lasting displays that thrive in our high plains' dry climate—horticulture supervisor Isaiah Smith said some tulip varieties live up to a decade. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Scott Talbott, the second-longest serving director of the Wyoming Game and Fish Department, died in April from pancreatic cancer at age 63. He spent 34 years guiding wildlife recovery and teaching his sons and communities about outdoor conservation—leaving a legacy of adventure and public service.  Cowboy State Daily
  • David Edwards, born in Cheyenne, flew 260 Vietnam combat missions and earned medals such as the Distinguished Flying Cross during his long Navy career. He later served as a city council member and state representative, and his Navy memorabilia is now on display at the Wyoming Veterans Memorial Museum.  Cowboy State Daily

  • Andy Sandness from Newcastle received a new face from a 56-hour surgery at Mayo Clinic in 2016 after a suicide attempt left him disfigured, and a new book details his long recovery and return to work in Wyoming's oil fields before building a family.   • LARAMIE, Wyo. — The Casper-Natrona County Health Department completed unannounced inspections from May 16 through May 22 at restaurants, grocery stores, and other food outlets, and several sites received minor violations that must be corrected within ten days. No facility was deemed unsafe as each issue was either fixed immediately or addressed on reinspection.  Cap City News
